The Royal Navy 1905-1921
William Stanley Prince was my wife's grandfather; he served in the
Royal Navy from 1905 to 1921, and spent the whole of the First World
War on the battlecruiser HMS Lion.
Rather than try to tell his story as a narrative, I have included
various sections which deal with different aspects of a life in the
Royal navy at the beginning of the 20th century:
